MASCOT’s products with the UV Standard 801 label protect your skin against the sun’s rays when you work extensively outdoors.
If most of your day is spent outdoors, MASCOT recommends the use of workwear with UV Standard 801. When you spend many hours outside, the sun’s rays can take their toll on your skin, so it is important to have the right protection. The sun’s rays are strong and can shine through your workwear, damaging your skin in the long-run. Therefore, the right protection is important. The UV factor tells you how much longer you can stay in the sun without causing damage to your skin. Clothes with a high UV factor can surpass even the strongest sunscreen, making them particularly useful for people who work outdoors a lot, such as tradesmen, road workers and gardeners. MASCOT’s products are certified to offer protection at a high UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), in accordance with UV Standard 801. This means that only a small part of the sun’s rays penetrate your clothing and reach your skin. For example, this means that at a UPF of 80, only 1/80 sunrays can penetrate. That’s equivalent to 1.25%.
MASCOT’s products with the UV Standard 801 label are UV tested and certified by the Hohenstein Institute. To ensure that the clothes provide the best protection in every situation, the product is tested in both new and used condition. The clothes are tested in the worst possible weather conditions. They are exposed to wear, stretching and moisture, and are tested after washing. With the UV Standard 801 certification, we thus ensure that the workwear is both functional and safe. It protects your skin against the sun’s rays.
